Whirling Mandala® created by Zia Nath is a sacred dance whirling meditation inspired from the ancient Sufi mystics, the wild spinning gypsies, the earthy ghumraos of Rajasthan, the crystalized awareness of zen masters and enlightened Indian mystics.

…. motion & stillness are emerging from one dimension. This is the heart of whirling meditation – stillness in the center and organising chaos all around. In this heart space, paradoxes meet & contradictions dissolve.
We meditate in motion & stillness in each moment. Every moment is a thread weaving through the tapestry of cosmic time….

Music and Poetry, rhythm and stillness, silent sitting are important elements that condition and refine our experiences. Practiced as an active meditation, the work is unique as it centers us in the balance of duality. We find stillness in motion and maintain balance with our inner compass.

Concentric Circles

Like ripples in the pond, each awareness moment expands out from its own center,
containing in its pattern the configuration of all phenomena in the universe,
material and immaterial.

And so the process of centering –
the gathering of oneself
as if by an inward throw of a stone
into the pool of one’s own consciousness
– is also a Mandala

Workshops are facilitated by Zia Nath. Zia has been in the practice of this work for more than two decades. She performs and teaches sacred dances across the country and internationally. and continues to be inspired by it in her own personal and spiritual path.
