Zia has been in the practice and passion of Sacred Dance for over 2 decades. Her study in whirling was mostly self learnt and inspired by the writings of Osho, Rumi’s poetry, Sufi musicians and their music.

She studied Gurdjueff Movements with teachers from Osho International Meditation Resort – Pune and leading teachers from Gurdjueff and Bennett lineage in USA & Europe. Zia found many similarities of the inner space of these dances, when she got into the study of Indian Classics – Odissi Dance (ancient temple dances of India originating from Orissa).

This led her to create here performance shows that integrated all these sacred dance forms.

Over the years, Zia’s passion and spiritual path has been at the intersections of these diverse dance forms – so different from the outside, but all the same from the inside. All spiritual journeys lead to the same destination – here, now! …and when the journey is a beautiful path of sacred dance – then the journey itself is the destination.
